In 2010, I came across the following journal where there is a proposal that we could make concrete at low cost using saw dust and Palm kernel shells. The reinforcement has to be optimised. It turned me on.

The high and rising costs of building construction in developing countries have been a source of concern to government and private developers. They investigated the use of saw dust and palm kernel shells (PKS) as replacement for fine and coarse aggregates in reinforced concrete slabs.
